During the course of my teaching career / realized that most of the students fail to develop the basic groundings of the subjects and that is the primary reason they start disliking that subject

Take for example Maths. I have come across many students who couldn’t solve a problem in an exam because they were unable to remember a formula. Remembering a formula is essential in solving papers quickly in an examination, but, if a student forgets the formula, he or she should be able to arrive at it from the basics, provided his or her concepts are crystal clear

here in lies the importance of understanding the subject from the core.
